National Infrastructure Seminar and Workshop “Indonesian Toll Road Outlook and Challenges”, Monday, 22nd May 2017
Jakarta – In collaboration with Universitas Pertamina, Garuda Infrastructure organized National Infrastructure Seminar and Workshop Indonesian Toll Road Outlook and Challenges on Monday, 22nd May 2017 at Universitas Pertamina (3rd floor, Griya Legita Building). This infrastructure event is supported by Indonesian Toll Road Authority (Badan Pengatur Jalan Tol / BPJT) and Indonesian Society for Geotechnical Engineering (Himpunan Ahli Teknik Tanah Indonesia / HATTI). Also, it is sponsored by PT. Geotekindo (Ground Improvement Specialist), PT. Sinergi Asia Persada, and PT. Multi Mulya Putra (Energy, Mineral Resources, and Engineering Consultant).
Opening Speech delivered by Garuda Inrastructure (Garin) was represented by Bpk. Bagja N. Kurniawan. He presented brief introduction of Garuda Infrastructure and was expecting all participants to have a collaboration with Garin in future infrastructure events. As representative of Universitas Pertamina, Bpk. Dr. Arianta (Head of Civil Departement) introduced Civil Engineering program at Universitas Pertamina. The study program is divided into different expertise which are Offshore Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Structural & Geotechnical Engineering, and Transportation Engineering. In addition, Bpk. Rangga Adiprima Sudisman Dr. Eng. (Civi Engineering Lecturer Universitas Pertamina) was a moderator in this seminar and workshop.
Bpk. Dr. Ir. Herry Trisaputra Zuna, SE, head of Indonesian Toll Road Authority (Kepala BPJT), is pleased to be a keynote speaker in the Seminar with a topic of Indonesian Toll Road Infrastructure Outlook. He explained that there are 35 segments of toll road are under construction and 11 segments are under preparation which cover Trans Sumatera, Trans Jawa, Non Trans Jawa, and Jabodetabek. “According to the plan, the total length of Indonesian toll road would be operated in 2017, 2018, and 2019 are 391.9 km, 614.7 km, and 668.8 km rspectively,” He added.
In the panel discussion session, technical topic was the main concern. Bpk. Abdul Mutholib, ST, structural engineering expert of PT. Multi Phi Beta, focused on Bridge Engineering. Type of Bridge, Code & Design, Bridge Technology, High strengh concrete, and loadings are described in his presentation. From operator toll road, PT. Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk took part in this event as speaker through its subsidiary PT. Jasa Layanan Pemeliharaan (JLP). Bpk. Saga Hayyu Suyanto Putra, ST, General Manager Production and Equipment PT. JLP, illustrated Asphalt Mixing Plant (AMP) Technology. Construction issue, AMP type, Asphalt production, and Asphalt compaction were interesting topic to discuss.
Panel discussion was more excited since Indonesian Society for Geotechnical Engineering (HATTI) represented by Bpk. Ir. Idrus M. Alatas, M.Sc, P.hD presented The Problematic Clay Shale Deposit on Toll Road Projects. He have outlined clay shale characteristic and geotechnical problem case on infrastructure project due to clay shale deposit. In his opinion, the imporrtant thing in the geotechnical aspect of infrastructure project on clay shale deposits are geology technique survey, completely soil investigation, determination of true shear strength, and methodology of geotechnical analysis. Introduction to Digital Triaxial Equipment for Soil Test Purpose delivered by Bpk. Ghozalfan F. Basarah, ST, MT (Director PT. Gerlink Utama Mandiri) have provided better soil investigation approach. Manual triaxial review and digital triaxial scheme were clearly explained. In summary, He pointed out that soil investigation is very crusial in starting a project for sfatey and economical purpose.
Due to the participant’s request, the event are continued after lunch and break session with Digital Triaxial demonstration. Bpk. Ghozalfan described how to use digital triaxial instrument and monitoring result provided on the screen.
The seminar and workshop has successfully done by accommodating 130 participants form different backgrounds, such as Entrepreneur, academic, professional, government / state owned government, and private sector. Together with Garuda Infrastructure and Universitas Pertamina Students, some students from Universitas Bakrie were involved as committe.
