Karen Agustiawan, who is Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), appreciated the achievement of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE). Its production had been increasing by 20 % each year since PHE was established in 11th October 2007.
Currently, PHE has nearly had 50 subsidiaries which spread from Sumatra to Papua. By looking at this great achievement, the board directors of PHE have been entrusted to start managing the Mahakam Block after 2017 contract termination from Total E&P Indonesie.
“PHE had successfully managed some blocks that were given by Government after taking over from foreign country. Those are Offshore Northwest West Java (ONWJ) from BP West Java and West Madura Offshore (WMO) from Kodeco. Despite of taking over, their productions are rapidly going up,” she said recently.
According to the PHE’s accession, Karen Insisted that PHE have been able to run the domestic block very well. In the beginning, PHE was trusted to manage block in both domestic and foreign countries.
“However, there are still many domestic blocks that need to be taken over by PHE. Surely, Giant Mahakam Block had given to PHE. For Masela and Natuna Blocks, It’s still looking forward the progress. I hoped PHE became an oil and gas production leader,” said Karen.
